Most rumors and superstitions had at least a little truth underpinning them. Iko found herself kneeling at the Shrine of Remembrance offering her devotions to the memory of Matsu Hitomi, a fellow samurai-ko, mostly out of respect. Mostly. If the occasional prayer for Hitomi's spirit to watch benevolently over the city and its occupant slipped into her worship every now and again, who could really blame her. |
