"I expect we're only in the foothills, and do not yet know if the next bend will bring crevice or cliff."

"That's what I like to hear." He smiles a bit at that, then falls into a half-lidded gaze. With a breath out a few seconds later, he opens his eyes wider again. "Keep moving, Bayushi-sama. Your path is yet before."

After, he goes back to helping tidy the shrine. It was probably going to be very busy in coming days.

Entering the shrine, Togashi Mai made efforts to pay respects to the departed personage in her own way at the very least. However, she had come with the knowledge that there were scrolls depicting this personages story. Those were what she was after and while the others present spoke she turned her attention to the story of Matsu Hitomi.

Kodama wrinkled his brow. Had to be a Togashi, right?

And then approached, bowing as best he can. "Togashi-sama. I'm honored to be a guest at this shrine and so have offered to assist those who need it. Do you?"

"I do not," she said, reading to the last of her current sentence before looking to the monk. Bowing in apology for the wait.

"However, I would be most glad to speak of anything that might interest you monk-sama," she spoke with a touch of reverence for the position, "perhaps if there was ever a chance you needed assistance?"

He contemplates that question for a moment. "Will you be in town for a few days?"

"My plan was to move on after the court but hearing how things are at the walls, I would find that this city will have need of what aid they might gain," she said, sighing at the thought of the hardship many souls currently faced.

"Does this mean you will have need of me, Monk-sama?"

He bows a bit, "It is not a great need, but a request. I do not know when, if ever, I will be able to make it to the Dragon mountains."

He straightens, leaning a bit to one side, with a frown. "Apologies, I've not introduced myself. I'm Kodama, a monk in service to the Fortune of Heroes, Reichin. I have been traveling the Empire to try and collect stories of its heroes, to better enlighten my brothers and sisters. It is my hope that I might hear of some of the heroes of the Dragon, if you have time in the coming days or can suggest another who does."

"No one person could know every hero, I am sure, but," she placed her right index finger against her cheek in thought.

"I can be of help in this way, best we give it some time and return to this when you are prepared to copy down what it is I will say? Unless you merely wish to commit what I know to memory," she said with a light touch of a smile.

He holds up his left hand. "If we wait for me to write it down, we'll need much more time. My calligraphy was not great before I needed to relearn it."

"Then," she said, with a rise to her voice as she pivoted where she was to look for a place they might sit in propriety. Plopping down to the seat she began, "I will start with the story of a Dragon Samurai, one that is known to the world over and from the whispers I've gathered may yet even walk among these very same stones," she indicated the area around them.
