There were corpses weighing down the bamboo, but nothing else within immediate range.

Tsukimi looked up at the sky through the grating.

"Patience might be a virtue... if you could perhaps ask the air kami to deliver a message as to our location, so when the army is gone others know where to find us." She sighed. "If we don't want to bide our time, I can easily start some fires. As a distraction."

"It will take some time...but I'll try to arrange something," says Tameaki. "Let nothing disturb me as I speak to the Air, or the effort will be wasted."

He sits and begins murmuring a prayer - not as quietly, perhaps, as he thinks - to the kami of the Air, calling for them to speak with him and hear his plea...

And five minutes later begins retching as once again the Imbalance takes hold.

"I can't," he says as he finally regains some composure. "I'm not familiar enough with the prayer to make the request in the best of times, and these times are not that. We're going to have to do this without the assistance of the kami."

OOC
Commune (Air) TN 19 (+3 wounds, +6 Black Scrolls) - roll 21 for a success. Terrible Stealth (Spell Casting) roll of 14.

Assuming no one interrupts, five minutes pass...

Importuning Legacy of Kaze-no-Kami, TN 23 (base 20, +3 wounds) - roll 27 should be a success.

Attempting to cast Legacy of Kaze-no-Kami, TN 29 (base 20, +3 wounds, +6 Black Scrolls) - roll 20 means no-go.

2/3 Air slots used.

"Well," Tani sighed. "If we are going to move, we may as well do so now. I don't know that we're going to get another chance..."

At Tameaki tried to reach the elements, so too did Tsukimi, although in a different way and a different kind. Perhaps it was the shugenja's quiet chanting that did the trick, but she managed to feel the healing power of the Water Dragon coursing through her again.

She couldn't blame him for the difficulty of pulling off such a feat with the kami. From what she understood, shugenja needed their ofuda, so it was probably a great strain to recite the prayers without them. And he'd said he was bit of a novice too, right?

"Well... let's see what we can do then." Pressing her fists together, Tsukimi let the element of Fire take hold of her. "We're doing this together."

Imagine the boost in morale if we manage to get back together by working as a team.

"If Shosuro-sama goes first, I can boost up Tani-sama, and then Soshi-sama."

-------

D12 LM trying to activate Ride the Water Dragon again (twice) while Tameaki is attempting to importune. TN 15 + 10 Wound penalties = TN 25: 2#5d10o10k3 25 39 12 Wounds healed in total. Currently at 20 Wounds (Nicked, +3 Penalty)

D12 LM activate Touch of the Void Dragon (Fire). TN 18: 5d10o10k3 33 +1 Fire Ring.

OOC: So, hopefully we can all get out of the pit together by combining our muscles. From there, my idea is that we try to sneak out with Cooperative Stealth.

OOC: If MS is down for that, that should work. Kitamaru's probably got the best Stealth/Agility, so he should probably lead the pack.

There is an opening in the grate, so go ahead and make TN 25 Stealth (Sneaking)/Agility checks.

If she was healthy, she might have been find. But Tani's wounds were heavy, and painful, and she couldn't help but lag a bit behind.

Stealth: Sneaking. Void for Skill. TN 25+15=40: 5d10o10k4 28

Tameaki pulls himself out of the pit quietly, turns toward the city...and immediately steps on a twig.

OOC: 24. Orokos, we will have words...

With her internal fire dominant now, Tsukimi's movements were accurate and precise, enhanced beyond their normal abilities as she managed to move skillfully.

Kitamaru and Tsukimi manage to sneak through the enemy encampment without drawing suspicion, but Tani and Tameaki are quickly noticed and re-captured as warning shouts go up throughout the camp.

The two captured samurai are placed under high guard, to be marched out along with the army as they prepare to depart.

Tani sighed a bit at being captured again, but she wasn't ultimately that surprised. No doubt she would end up some bargaining chip somewhere or other.
