16th day of the Month of the Hare, 759


The residents of Nikesake wake up to an unexpected sight: the spirit army camped outside their city is packing away their tents, stowing their gear, and preparing to march onward. Samurai manning the walls are still harassed by the arrows of the army's ashigaru, but it is clear that the army's motivation has changed.

The army departs in the Late Afternoon, marching south towards Zumiki-mihazi across muddy and waterlogged fields. Left behind in their wake are a few dozen ashigaru and samurai, many of them too injured to keep up with their marching brethren.
