Day 7 [Late Evening] Bathtime Before Bed

As always was his routine, Ryuji would bathe at night time before bed so that he would be ready to go to court for the following day. He always lived by a structured schedule and never deviated from it. Part of that was his courtier training, the other was from his Matsu trained mother.

The water was hot enough for him to stand it and he allowed himself to sink in and relax from the day.

Nagiko also liked a bath before going to sleep. It helped her relax, especially now that she was going to search for answers later on.

In any case, she arrives at the onsen, undressed herself in the dressing room and grabbed a wood bucket and a small silk towel and entered.

Non-surprising at this point for her, the bath was already occupied by someone. A man. '' Konbanwa Samurai-sama'' she said to him respectfully as she bowed, as onsen etiquette dictated.

She used her wooden bucket to acquire some of the onsen waters to clenase herself first outside of the pools.

'' Hopefully my presence here does not disturb you. If you wish privacy samurai-sama i can search for another pool.'' She said to the man.

Ryuji was not startled by the woman. He straightened up from reclining against the bathing pool.

"Konbanwa, samurai-san. Modesty is not an issue here, we are adults. Please," he said with a polite gesture, "share the bath with me. I am Otomo Ryuji. To whom do I share this evening with?"

An Otomo, huh... Nagiko wonders as she heard his name.

'' Nagiko, from the Islands of Spice and Silk beyond the domain of Suitengu-no-kami.'' She replied as she raise to bow to the man. '' It is a honor to met you Otomo Ryuji-sama'' and with that she entered the pool waters...

Ryuji gave a nod in place of a bow as she entered the pool.

“I see... I have not met many from the islands. Please tell me of them.”

'' Well, if you could imagine, Otomo-sama, of volcanic islands with an untouched massive forest on top of them that is basically what the islands look like.'' She explained to the Otomo.

'' They are hot humid, all year round, so unlike here on the mainland, we don't see snow, even on winter.'' Nagiko cleanses with the onsen waters. '' Animals and plants are beautiful but also dangerous, so most of my people turn to the sea, as you might know, for a living.''

"And so your living then is made by the sea then, ne? Have you seen much of the mainland?"
Ryuji asked as he resumed his relaxing soak.

'' Not a lot. Only this city and Toshi no Omoidoso.'' Nagiko shrugs. '' I wanted to see more of it but we were cut off by Hantei-heika, or shiryo, or whatever he is.'' She explained to the Otomo.

"Yes...most unfortunate business that is. I wish to learn more about the islands and it seems you have interest in the main lands. Perhaps we can aid one another in our respective endeavors...for duty's sake of course. I have no ulterior notions, Nagiko-san." Ryuji bowed his head to her in place of a traditional bow.
