Despite the incident the previous day, Akemi returned to the bath house after sleep to clean up and prepare for the day. She did place her equipment closer to her than before, although still within the changing rooms. After cleaning, she slipped into the water with a soft sigh, closing her eyes and soaking for the moment.

Listening, carefully. She might be a little paranoid, which made enjoying the bath slightly more difficult than usual.

Akemi was not the only samurai-ko who was a little paranoid in the baths. After the all out blitz attack that happened at Ryoko Owari, Iko was never far from a weapon and while she had done a little training with her fists, she still preferred the comfort of her blades.

They were laid down away from the water's edge, but close enough to reach reasonably quickly in case of trouble. Iko offered a bow and smile to the current occupant before easing herself into the water and running her fingers through her long hair to untangle it from the exertions of yesterday.

"I hope I'm not intruding too much minna-san?"

Akemi had turned when she heard the sound of another person, but as there was no screaming with it she calmed slightly, giving the other woman a bow as she approached and entered the baths but looking away politely.

"No intruding at all samurai-sama. All are welcome in the baths" she smiled "I am Moto Akemi. I hope you are well?"

"Not particularly." Iko replies honestly. "I've learned a few of my clansmates are launching an infiltration of the Enemy Camp later today and I'm a little concerned for their safety."

"Oh, my apologies, my name is Iko, Togashi Iko. I hope you'll forgive me, but you look...not like I expected you to look Moto-san. You almost remind me of someone."

"Your kin are brave Togashi-sama. I will pray for good fortunes to follow them, and hopefully guide them home. I have heard your name before, you served in the War of Broken Fangs, ne? You may know Doji Akemi then, as I was known back then" Akemi chuckled "you're not the first, nor will you be the last, to say I do not look as expected of the Moto. The ways of the Unicorn are still quite foreign to me, as I only married in a little over four months ago."

The Moshi comes in quietly, she had earlier given her prayer to Amaterasu-no-Kami as she graced them (at last!) with her light. She carefully disrobes and washes before approaching the tub. "Minna-sama, may I join you? This one is Moshi Yuko of the Centipede." She said with a half-bow.

Iko was about to reply to Akemi when the new priestess entered that bath house. She offered the new arrival a shallow bow and smile before introducing herself and Akemi to the little Moshi.

"Moshi-san, this one is Togashi Iko, and this is Moto Akemi-san. Please join us, the water is lovely and there is plenty of room."

"Domo, Togashi-sama," said Yuko. "A pleasure to meet you, Moto-sama."

"I hope I am not interrupting."

She sighed softly as the warm water enveloped her.

"Not at all, we are just two old...well some older than others," Iko replied with a slight chuckle.

"Old war veterans reminiscing about shared time and experiences. I must admit to not having many encounters with your clan in the past Moshi-san, though I had a friend who was quite devout in her worship and offerings to Amaterasu as well."

Iko dips her head sadly in memory of Kayou.

"Hai, our numbers are small," nods Yuko, "and we are not usually ones to venture out into the wide world. But this one thinks that that must change, the world is changing and we need to know what is happening. And people need to remember that Amateru-no-kami is watching."

"Was your friend a priestess?" she asks.

Akemi gave the Moshi woman a smile and a bow.

"Welcome, Moshi-sama. No, no interruption at all. as Togashi-sama said, we were discussion of previous meetings."

Akemi lowered her head, knowing who Iko was referring to.

"No, she was a Nun of the Brotherhood. A woman that many held highly."

"A monk," Iko corrects slightly as her hands busy themselves smoothing out her hair.

"She founded the new Order of Harmonious Work. It's a small growing order, but I hope it will find traction despite her passing, it speaks of a good message."

"Oh," says Yuko, "you speak of the Abbess Kayou. I had so wanted to speak with her. Perhaps, later, you might tell me what you remember of her ritual. I had wanted to learn it and return it to my sisters. It is my understanding that she adopted the basis of her ritual from one of the Moshi priestess she had met many years ago and adapted it, I had wished to bring it home again."

"I will have to learn all I can about her and her Order, her story must be recorded and spread." She is idly tracing characters with her finger on the side of the bath as she speaks. "Can you tell me more of this Order of Harmonious Work? Perhaps there is a place for them in my home valley."

"I am talking to much, ne?" she sighs. "Bad habit around new people."

"Ah, I cannot say I know what her morning rituals looked like" Akemi commented with a shake of her head "I often met her, but cannot say it was during morning rituals. As for her Order?"

Akemi paused thoughtfully.

"I know it was started in the lands of the Sparrow, to assist them with the work in the fields. They were lovely people, and I...I would love to see their work spread among all the minor clans. Not just in her memory, but so they can all prosper like the Sparrow have with their improved soils."

Yuko nods. "We are fortune that the valley is fertile but improving our resources wold be welcomed. It would be good to have a surplus to be able to help others in time of need."

"I know she practiced her kata in Lady Sun's first rays each day as part of her devotion, but little more than that I'm afraid. As much as fate drew us together, it often kept us apart at the same time."

Yuko nods. "She will have to keep hunting for information on that then."

"Please, tell me, has there been any good news? I have been on the run since the slaughter at Winter Court. I have missed so much."

"Good news?"

Akemi frowned.

"I'm not sure there is anything akin to good news. I guess the play today?"

Yuko nods sadly. "I was afraid it would be that way. Still, at least Amaratsu-no-Kami is gracing us with her warmth today."

"A small blessing but a blessing."
