Knelt down her knee dug into the dirt of the road coated with the suns rays. Cold waves of wind washed over her skin and it reminded her yet of being alive among the death that so recently occupied these lands. Wrapping her blanket over her shoulders and tying it carefully at the neck that it didn't choke her she found her little friend padding along the dirt.

"May, you have yet had a fine time in the city. Have you not, my little friend?" she said as the young tabby prowled around her. "I have hopes that it treated you nearly as well as it has treated me. That I have met so fine of people in this city, and the last, I had no expectation to meet with the Lion yet before this. May, while yet some of those most important to me among them may have been lost," she glanced to the painting, furled up and protected against the elements within her pack, glancing down to her forearm quickly, "and I will forever carry the burden of their loss. I yet find that to have met them before their time was called was an honor delivered to me that I might work their ink and remember their story."

Coming up behind her the cat rubbed along her right leg slowly, she smiled at the feeling, "May, but I have not an idea for what you have gotten yourself up to, my little friend. What wonders and people might you have witnessed while I yet ran off on my own adventure, hmm?" she reached down toward the tabby and offered her hooked finger, brushing along the fur near the cats throat and reaching under her chin.

"May, I yet wonder where we will yet go next. For whom we may yet meet and for what stories I may yet come to understand. All there is for it is to place one foot before another and seek it out, is that not so?" she scratched under the tabby's chin. Pushing herself back up to her feet and collecting her pack.

"Let us then, get along with our journey," she said to her little friend before starting the first of many steps toward a destination she of yet was uncertain.
