Yukarin was not raising her own cup. She was drinking quite a bit though. Cofirmation that Mogami was dead had her downing her third cup as she stared out the window at the rain.

Amaya is quite content to drink in companionable silence and let the discussion wash over her. The Scorpion that suddenly appeared in such an abrupt manner was weird, but interesting.

She does not really understand what the Yogo is talking about, or trying to do, but it is making her cousin unhappy. All she can do though, it pat Mai-chan's shoulder to remind her that they will always have each other's back.

It seemed that the discussion would become heated at first, but then it suddenly turns gloomy instead. She had vaguely heard about a sortie being attempted, but it appears that things had not gone well. Wasn't Kayou the nun Mai-chan had lent her armour to?

That thought makes Amaya turn to look at her cousin.

Was only with that Matsu yesterday. This doesn't bode well. You'll be missed Matsu-sama.

Nobody knew that the Soshi had actually seen other bodies brought in, rather than those he thought they belonged to. In the fury of combat it was hard to tell. They'd find out the next day. However, even if she had known this it wouldn't have stopped Maiya feeling miserable. It likely would have made her feel worse.

Finishing the cup she poured another. She didn't register her cousin's pats. She needed some cheering up or she would be like this all evening.

As the evening went on Maiya became more cheerful again as she drunk more. Sake had a wondrous ability in that regard.

Soon she was talking animatedly of the exploits of her gunso and how great baths were. After that things became hazier.
