The Lioness ascended the steps to the Phoenix temple, walking slowly, methodically. Arriving at the gates, she carefully performed temizu while praying, preparing herself for a meeting with her ancestors. |

Her slow steps was what allowed the Kitsu to catch up to the lioness. "Kōgyoku-sama!" He called at her as he moved at a more vivid pace than hers. The samurai climbed up the steppes of the temple of the phoenix. He had wondered about it since he had learned that it was a typical visit area for shugenja. Now it was a surprise to find the Matsu there as well. "Konichi wa, Kōgyoku-sama." |

"Shukei-san." Her expression earned some serenity seeing him. It was at moments like this when the Lion needed their spiritual guides the most. "It's comforting to see you." She bowed respectfully, status difference be damned. |

As Yukarin approached the shrines, her mind wandered back to Toshi no Omoidoso and the little shrine there. She contemplated what might happen to it, and whether the spirits there would be angry... Still, a chance to get outside the walls like this and pray was worth a walk through the mud; Geta sandals stuck with wet noises but kept her feet dry as she banished those thoughts and took in the Phoenix shrine in front of her. She made sure to take off her muddy sandals before entering, finding two samurai there amongst the few attending monks. |
