"Well... I'm afraid you may think it foolish," Baatar said, his face reddening. But, encouraged by Inugami, he continued.

"There was a lady I, um, knew once, who joined the monks not far from here," he blurted out. "I was wondering if you would've had any news of her. I don't know what monk name she took, but in her past life, she was called Asako Yuki."

A coughing is the sound that proceeds the appearance of the red clad figure. He enters slowly, and after the last few days, it seems his cough has returned.

After appropriate entry rituals, he looks around, then approaches the abbess. Reaching into his scroll satchel, he pulls out a bound sheaf of paper, fairly high quality. However, the edges of some of them look a little charred already. He gives a proper bow.

"Sad, this one is not from this area, Moto-san," says Kayou. "She has had little
chance to meet the local monks and nuns. Also, it is impolite to ask about one's former life before joining the Brotherhood."

She downs politely to the Isawa.

Kayou takes them gingerly and places them in her bag. "This one will have them send out directly with instructions to begin copying them and keep them safe." She bows.

She looks to Baatar. "Not at all. The new person they are would still be pleased to see you, ne?"

"I... I don't know," the young Unicorn admitted. "We parted on bad terms. But, it's been nearly a year, and, you know, time heals wounds...." He gave her a sheepish smile.

"I thought I would ask after her, just to see how she is doing...in her 'new life.' "

Hachi gives another bow, then steps away from the private counseling session. He has not often done it himself, but has a few times, and recognizes it.

Inugami wondered if the resident Asako knew the monk Baatar was looking for. He smiled. "Moto san maybe you should check the Phoenix embassy. There is a resident Asako that might be of help."

"Huh, maybe," Baatar mused at Inugami's suggestion. "But I couldn't bother the great Asako Kashiwagi over such a trivial matter. I mean, he is so famous... someone like that wouldn't keep track of little people like us, would he?"

Inugami shook his head. "Kashiwagi sama is a busy man but I think I saw another Asako at the embassy. I think she was staying here before we arrived."
